Title: Brace height? American Archery recurve
Post by: StrateShuter on July 05, 2009, 10:16:00 AM
I picked up a recurve at a yard sale recently.  It's marked American Archery Oconto Falls, WIS. X-48, #2249, amo50, 50#@28".  I took it to my local archery shop and they reccomended a 50" string. After putting it on they pulled the bow on a scale and it was about 50# @ 28".  The brace height is about 8 1/4".  I was told by someone else that this is too much and I need a shorter string to reduce the brace height.  Any opinions?
