I've got the snakesking glued up and drying on my wife's bow as I type. I'm planning on doing phenolic tip overlays also.
Question is: Can I glue the phenolic on top of the skin, or should the snakeskin be trimmed back off the tips and glued to the wood? I'm leaning towards trimming them back for a better glue hold. But a friend has a skin-backed self bow with horn overlays that actually go over the edge of the snake skin about 1/4".
Thanks again
Ben
I always trim them back, but with the proper glue they would probably hold over the skin.
Plan on using "Loctite" 5 min. epoxy.
