What would happen if I used my jointer to make a flat long bow form? Just use two 2 x 6's. Is this possible for one person to do alone? Then just band saw out the riser area on the top form and then you are ready for glue up.

most longbows are 1.5" wide, it would work just fine. put the riser on the belly side and there is no reason to use a cut out. there was an article in trad bowhunter about just that last year
Just watch that the heat doesn't warp it. Maybe run it thru the hot box a couple times before putting a bow in with it!

I'm confused about leaving the riser on the belly side and not needing a cut out. I'm sure it's quite simple but somehow it is evading me?
Thanks

With my rubber band clamping, I use a simple form like you are talking about for straight longbows. If you are talking about a two piece, air-hose set up, you may need more strength.
