I just got an osage board. It is very straight but is edge grained, I think this is what it is called. The grain runs form back to belly and not across the limb. I also got a hickory backing to back this with. I am planning on building a reflex-deflex bow. Is this going to be a problem or will it work. Thanks, Don
If you don't have any pin knots in the board then you're good to go Don. Some folks will say that edge grain makes a harder hitting bow. They may be right! ART B
It should work fine! Osage/hickory is my favorite backed bow combo. Makes excellent bows. Pat
Thanks guys, I can always count on good answers from good people on here. Thanks again, Don
