It is 55lbs @28" but I draw it to 29.5".
I tried it at the club yesteray and was able to get 7-8" groups at 20 yards.
I am a new shooter having only started this summer so I dont know if thaqt is good or not but I was quite happy. Very nice bow. Congratulations. Jawge
Very nice bow with good tiller. Sounds like you are shooting quite well, especially for a beginner. With more practice your groups will tighten.
Try shooting one arrow at a time then retrieving it before you shoot another. If you can put it where you want it, you are shooting good. Having a group of arrows in the target at one time can be distracting for me. By shooting one arrow at a time its just me and the target. Pat
Thanks for the comments. Geez do I look like I need all that exercise, running back and forth for all those arrows? Lets face it basically Im lazy!
Very nice, can we have some info on materials? Thanks, Mike.
Hey Mike...you are a neighbour. I am from Streetsville!
The board used was red oak, the handle was ash, and the backing is fibreglass drywall tape 3 layers glued in place with Rona's woodworking glue 3500lb strength.
Tiller looks real good to me. Good looking bow all the way around. I especially like the handle.
Very Nice!, always impressed with this kind of work, keep going, Mike
Nice job. It looks like you used Sam Harper's instructions, as I did on the one I finished last week. The bow likes a lower brace height, somewhere around 5 1/2 inches. Take a look at the board bow design from Mickey "The Ferret" Lotz here. (http://residents.bowhunting.net/sticknstring/brdbows.html) I am tillering this design now. Again, you did a great job on this one. Let's build some more.
Looks great Ted! Congrats!!!
:clapper:
good job, that only looks about 100 times better than my first bow :)
Lovely "arc of the circle" tiller shape. Is it a straight bow unbraced?
