Title: Kenny's Lams under glass
Post by: Peckerwood on October 10, 2008, 08:31:00 PM
Here are a couple of bows I just finished using some fine zebra wood lams from Kenny McKenzie. I have purchased a number of laminations from Kenny and they all have been 1st rate .
Both bows are 50 in . with wenge risers , actionboo cores , and zebra wood veneers.

Awesome looking bows!  Kenny's lams are first rate for sure.

Kenny, have you sold any of the canarywood lams yet?  Any photos of what it looks like under glass?  Thanks, Marty

Haven't done any canary lams at all yet. Need to find out if it stays yellow instead of darkening like osage.

Amazing bows!  The reverse tapers are excellent.

Kenny do you cut those laminations yourself?

Nice website Kenny and great products.  I like that first buck you got with your 55# longbow...what a moster for the first buck.

Next up on my list is to build a R/D similar to the style above..hopefully they will turn out half as nice!

Can anyone tell me where they obtain their arrow rests (like the ones attached to the bows in the pics above)...they appear to be suede and many fo the bows on these sites have the shapes.

I never saw a retailer carry those....but maybe someone can point me in the right direction...or do you just cut them yourself and use barge cement to attach.

Thanks!!

Brad , the rests I like to use are calf hair on the side and sealskin on the rest ( 3 Rivers sells both).

Kenny, I like to use reverse tapers on the short bows to reduce string angle and finger pinch.

Bill these pics are killing me, I can't wait till the bow gets to me. I actually have a very nice buck picked out that I hope will be it's first victim. You're gonna have to make the two hour trip and let me put you on a nice buck as additional payment for the bow. Kennym's lams and Bill's work are phenominal.
Thanks,
      Jake
