Title: weather
Post by: Ray Hammond on November 25, 2014, 09:31:00 AM
I don't know about you guys but where I'm at between the recent bitter cold (for us) temps, rain and high winds its been tough working on anything in the shop without the hands going numb and so I've been slowed the last four days.

Looking forward to our upcoming warmer temps starting Saturday!

One nice thing about living in the frozen wastelands of MI - we plan on it being cold. I have a natural gas furnace that will roast you out in no time. Sure wish I'd put in an AC for the hot summer days, though.

I guess that's my solution- never thought in GA I'd have to worry about being too cold though.   Guess that's climate change! NOT

This weekend should be nicer around here. I may be able to squeeze in some time for a knife or two.    :scared:

Good grief...-28 I think I'd have fingers falling off.... I guess when you live down south your blood thins out as you get older??? I know I used to go out with a t shirt on when it was in the 40's and now I have to wear two coats when it's that cold!!!

And, he said -28C which is only -18.
No kidding, it's only November and we had -14 yesterday. I am still wearing my Keen hiking sandals and short sleeve shirts.
Not like I'm staying outside, but I think attitude has something to do with it.
Just knowing that you can get warm when necessary sort of takes the edge off.

I have never been great with cold....on every hunt to Canada I've gotten sick for at least a day on the trip....so the attitude thing prolly works for some....I know all those Michigan boys would get up at the hog camp and go out in the mornings when I had a sweater and a jacket on- they'd be in a long sleeve t shirt and have a wool shirt " in case" temps dropped a good bit! I've lived in the South for 40 years and I guess it's just worn off but with all this global warming I think I might need to get thinking about wool long johns under the clothes as a regular wear item.
