I am liking it more and more every time I use it on a knife. Whether it is burl or high contrast or just "plain", it has a glow that nothing else has.
Here are two different knives I just finished up, both with really nice Ironwood handles. The first one is my new model "Compact" scout with a 3.5"
blade and the second is my full size scout with a 4 3/8" blade.
Both have CPM 154 blades that have a nice stonewashed finish with polished spines. The pins a carbon fiber and the lanyard tubes are copper.
Any and all comments welcome!

It's ok I guess, you know, for a field grade knife. :D

WOW!
Most-excellent work right there Ben!
Everybody I know would be blessed to possess that creation.
Keep up the awesome work!

Great looking knives, real nice work and style on both. I'm a real fan of ironwood myself, and those are two beautiful sets of scales on your knives.
Yup those'll do nicely.
I like the look of ironwood, just wish it smelled better when you work with it :D
Darcy
Yep Ben, I like it specially on those two knives.
Those look great :) . Very nice....

Don't get much better does it? Really worthy pieces too. Great work Ben.
I really like ironwood and haven't really put a finish on the pieces I've done - just polished them up with some 600 - 2000 grit paper and let it age.
What is the preferred finish? I've been thinking of putting some thinned tung oil on and letting it penetrate as deep as possible. I've seen some with super glue on it and it looked too glossy for my taste.
Beautiful knives, and sheaths as well. I'm fond of ironwood.
Since you're welcoming questions... fine looking glove there also! What glove is it?
Love the looks of Desert Ironwood and the looks of your work.
Jay
Thanks so much for the comments guys!
The glove is a Doe skin one from 3 rivers archery, cant remember the brand.
Ben, if you don't mind my asking, how did you finish that desert ironwood? I really like the soft look.
Not only do I love the ironwood but that stonewash blade is out of the park! Beautiful knives!
Thanks.
I gave the handle one coat of Teak oil at 400 grit, but I don't think it really needs it. I hand sanded up to 2500 grit and then buffed with pink 3M sanding clothe.
Thanks Ben. It surely came out nice. I think that teak oil brightens the colors just a bit. Maybe not so much on desert iron wood, but a more porous wood it makes the colors pop a bit. That ironwood has so much contrast in it I guess it really doesn't need much.
