I just got off my spring break and we had some great weather for working outside. I have wanted to make a knife similar in style to the Canadian belt knife and this is what I came up with. This doesn't have quite the leaf shape as the original design does but this seemed to fit my liking a bit more. I made this one out of A2 with the handle being buffalo horn. I left the sheath unstained just for something different and I think this will be a regular carry on my side for awhile, even though my wife said it looks like a butter knife...

It looks great for camp duties and utility work. Nice sheath too.
I think your wife is trying to tell you she wants it for the kitchen :)
I like that pattern too - lots of knuckle clearance.
Nice looking knife. What are the dimensions? Either it's quite small or that tube is pretty big.
Darcy :)
Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments. Bladepeek, the last kitchen knife I made my wife ended up going through the dishwasher. All her knives now come without scales.
Sorry I should of posted the dimensions, but the knife is pretty small. I will measure it this evening when I get home and put them up.
The knife is 6 3/4" overall with a 3" blade.
Very nice!
I like that knife alot, good job.
Thanks Dan, one like this will be in fire for Sandra soon.
