Title: 2 little bare bone EDCs
Post by: Alexander13 on January 28, 2014, 12:50:00 PM
So I've had these done for a while now, but just never got around to photographing them.
They are just little bare bone EDC/pack knives.  Both are the same pattern but with a little different grinds as I was practicing.
They are both stock removal from old files, selectively hardened in "goop" and vinegar etched.  The second one is also lightly polished using a felt wheel and cerium oxide(it's what I use for final polish on glass work).
OAL is 6 3/4", with a 3" blade.

This next one is the one I tested polishing on and has a little different grind.

Nice looking profile and looks like a nice size.  The grind and the hamons look good.

Joel,
Nice job!  I personally love those bare bone type blades.  My hunting pack would feel naked without one or two. They work great, easy to clean up, and no worry about messing up a beauty.  Plus they're easy to make...a true hunting man's blade!

Not tying to steal your post but a few other syles for you to consider, tippit forged versions...

You can even get fancy with them...

Awesome little knives, Jeff.  Once I make sure that they'll pass testing then I plan on making a few more.

Thanks for all the comments guys!

Quite nice, to say the least.  Very well executed!
