Title: Damascus Accoutrements
Post by: tippit on August 11, 2013, 03:39:00 PM
Well I've starting making some of my own random Damascus.  One thing I found early was the spoon to sprinkle Borax on very hot billets needs to be a bit longer than a kitchen spoon.   I suppose I could just pick up a cheap one from any discount store...or forge one up myself.  A little bending, twisting, and working the horn just adds a little more personal touch to working the forge & no burnt fingers...tippit

Nice forge work Jeff. I need to make me one of those. It is very helpful to have a long handle to flux for welding. It would sure come in handy forging the axes I have been doing. Can't wait to see more of your steel.
