This is a super simple little knife I just finished.
I gave it a scalloped/knapped handle and a stone washed finish. Nothing fancy, but it is ready for work!! The OAL is 7", with a 3.5" blade of .214" 5160. I call these little all steel knives my BPK's or Bomb proof knives.
Let me know what you think!

Very nice.....what a great working knife!!
I think you've stumbled onto something very cool and practical there, Ben! Kudos! :)
Very Nice...Primitive Practical meets Practical Present.
That there is a damn fine knife!
Lets say I'm in the Portland area, say in late Nov.
Lets also say I'm going to be in Springfield area, visiting the inlaws.
Is is possible to view some knives in person?
I like the last several youve posted...
Thanks for the compliments guys!
Yeah Kevin, I finally splurged and got one! :D
You bet Scott, just let me know ahead of time so I can make sure I am home. I usually have at least one or two finished knives here.
You guys are sick on here! There are so many talented people out there, it's time I get going.
Very practical blade Ben, I like that one alot.
Nice
That is amazing.
I love your work Ben.

Thanks so much guys!
Wow...another classy "original" from ya. You're doing some great work Ben, keep it up. :clapper:
Great looking knife. You do great work.
Awesome, a serious little knife. Feels great in the hand, very precise.
THANKS Ben, I love it, and great service also. :bigsmyl:
You are a gifted craftsman indeed...I love it ...Wonder what one would look like with an antler and napped scale also ? Maybe moose antler bet that will be cool also.. Great job...
I saw the FB posting of this and noticed the possibility of a matching 'hawk. Now THAT would be an awesome hunting/survival/combat tool!!!!
I am glad you like it Daniel, I have 6 other orders for the same knife right now.
Thanks for the kind comments guys, I appreciate it.
Ben, great knife, glad that I got in 1st,and do not have to wait.
That is a very neat looking and original knife. I like it.
Awesome!
That looks awesome. How thick is the handle? Just curious how comfortable it would be in the hand. I have fairly large hands and like a somewhat bulky handle. Also, how do you do the stone wash finish, if you don't mind sharing? I am starting on an antler scaled drop point for a friend that that finish would probably look good on.
Thanks again guys!
Matt, the blade starts out at .214" thick, but with the knapped texture it comes out fairly thin.
The finish is achieved by first etching in Feric chloride, and then the blade is tumbled either by hand or in a tumbler.
Great knife Ben. Can you tell me the specific file you used for the finger grooves? What tpi and cut? Thanks
I used a 20lpi checkering file for the thumb grooves. And a round chainsaw in front of and behind them.
Thanks for the info Ben. I'm going to try that finish, or something similar, on the antler scaled knife I mentioned earlier. I haven't posted any pics of any of my work on here yet because most of it has been built from mass produced blanks. The one I'm working on will only be my 5th knife made entirely by me(hollow grinding is kicking my butt  ). I may let it be my 1st post on here. I would love(even though it will likely hurt a little :knothead: )to have it critiqued by you and some of the other guys on here.
oh thats neat.
Nice knife love the handle.
