Title: Green,yellow,black and copper? {Sheath added}
Post by: srtben on August 23, 2012, 09:28:00 PM
Here is another one of my Pine Marten models I just finished up. I tried a different handle combo this time, its kinda funky....but I like it.
The OAL is 7.5" with a 3.5" blade of .125" L6.
Let me know what you think.

It does look great!  I like the copper lanyard liner, I think it accents the knife nicely!

Brother, you are a knife making machine!  I wish I had the time to create all the projects in my head....

Looks good. That one would look good with the red as well!  Wouldn't want to drop it in the woods...might be hard to find!!

I think this is my favorite model of yours.  Definitely what I'd call an all-around EDC/hunting knife.  I still can't get over the micarta pins.  Those are just plain cool.   :thumbsup:

Great EDC! Ben

On your next one,could you leave off the four tiny pins - instead put two 3/16ths or 1/4" copper pins,the copper lanyard tube, with the black handle and blue liner handle materials you used before - if so consider its SOLD!!! :-).

I have to get a BRT knife before they get out of my price range!!!!

Ben, I too think that is one of your very best knives. Very nice design, and very well executed. Micarta looks fairly utilitarian; however, some of my favorite custom knives I own have Micarta handles. After all, knives are supposed to be utilitarian, aren't they? Your black-handled Pine Marten is just as nice. It would be hard to pick between the two. You are really coming up with some exceptional knives.

Wow guys, thanks for the kind words. With this design I wanted to keep it super simple and make a versatile blade that would at home as a small hunter, bushcrafter or EDC. I hope I accomplished that with this design.

Ray if you are serious, I would be happy to trade you for one of you fantastic blades. I would like to collect knives from makers that I respect and you are one of them.

Bne - I am a huge fan of your work and also feel this is my favorite knife of yours as far as design goes.  It also does not hurt that I am a life long Greenbay Packers fan so this one is the best so far IMO.  Only thing I would change(and just a personal preference) is stainless lanyard V. the copper.  I just like silver over copper for this but just an oppinion and we all know what those are worth.

Very nice looking knife -

Bob Urban
