Well I think this is a fitting name for my new combo! For I hope in the middle of September when the bulls reek of urine and are screaming their heads off. The big bull is thinking of nothing but chasing the lovely ladies around the block. The mornings are crisp with not too much to worry about. An unknown drifter slips in undetected and makes a sound so sweet that the big bull comes in for a look see. He detects something is out of place he is not sure what it is? But it's too late! Something cut through him and in flash he is off. But he does not make it very far and collapses and rolls downhill wedging against a tall pine tree. Then the Freddie Kruger to the elk emerges and effortlessly pulls a hand forged knife form his solid cross draw sheath. He has a big job ahead but the knife never dulls and with each slice the once 900lb beast is now ready to board his trusty horse Biscuit for the ride back to camp.
This folks will hopefully be the next chapter of the Nightmare on Elk Street! Enjoy the pictures of my new combo that will be in some of the most remote areas in the lower 48. The knife is made by my good friend Karl Andersen a Brute De Forge. Karl forged this knife while I was at his house this summer and later gave it to me as a gift with bocote scales attached and finished out just beautifully. This thing is scary sharp! I cannot wait to put it to the test. I am sure this wonderful creation will bring me good luck for many years. Thanks Karl!

Scott, nice lead-in! That is a fantastic combo. Your work is amazing. As I look at each of your sheaths I see the quality and attention to detail. Karl makes such a solid and quality knife. My wonderful wife bought me a Anderson Forge Knife back when Karl was an ABS Apprentice Smith and it remains one of my favorite knives. You two make a great team and complement the others talent.
And I scored one of your Arm guards last year, which I love!
I'm livin large too!
Have a great Hunting season, and a photo of a field dressing WIP would be nice!

Great stuff Scott. I know the anticipation for an upcoming elk hunt well. I miss it so! Growing up in Colorado September was the high point of the year for me. I never had such a great knife nor such artfully crafted leather. Karl's great forged knife in you finely crafted leather=Stunning. Thanks for sharing.
Here is hoping you have the best elk hunt imaginable. When the crisp cool air of opening morning fills your lungs, breath deep for your bowhunting brothers trapped in the hot humid south wishing they were there also.

Nice leather....nice knife. Thanks for posting. Your work is amazing. I'm in line for a pretty special Anderson Forge knife towards the end of the year. Both of you guys do amazing work.
