Recently I was asked if I made any combat knives and my quick reply was "No". I told the gentleman that my primary focus was to make an affordable hunting knives for the sportsmen and women. He then proceeded to tell me that he was looking to have a matched set of combat knives for him and his two sons currently fighting in the Middle-East, and that these knives will be first used by his sons, and then they would be passed-on to their children.
I do have a very soft spot for our servicemen and women since my youngest daughter served as a Captain in the United States Army, and her husband was wounded in combat in Iracq and he and his family are currently stationed in Germany, so I dropped everything I was doing at the time and jumped onto the project.
D2 tool steel 5 inch blade (Rockwell 60-C) with canvass micarta handle. Knife has a balance point right at the pointing finger, and owners' names and customer requested bible quote was also engraved onto each balde.
I missed out on some fly fishing, but the time was well spent.

Really nice knives.
Those are outstanding knives, Mike. But I haven't seen one of yours that isn't.

Yves, I had a young Marine come to my booth at this year's Noth American Longbow Safari. Being so young, I could tell that he was not exactly "swimming" in spending money, so I gave him a huge discount on the one knife he picked out - boy, he was one happy soldier :-)
