I'm not sure if this is where I post this. My Grandfather passed away a few months ago. I was going through so of his things and found an old hatchet. I was wondering what I could do to it to fix it up and reshape the head to look more rustic.
know I'm gonna change the handle to a longer straight one. The hammer head on it is mushroomed out. Can I file it down or grind with removing the temper? Here are some picks could someone give me some pointers and ideas what I could do with it. I would like for it to be functional as well as for looks and memory.
