My bosses wife makes soaps, balms, lotions and those sorts of things. She grows some of her own ingrediants, such as lavender. She has been frustrated with the cutting tools she has, so my boss asked if I could make a Lavender Harvesting Sickle for her. I looked at some pics and agreed to do it.
So here is my take on a sickle.
Blade;5160
Handle;Teak

I had considered not posting this here, but after putting this thing through some abuse I can say this would be a great tool for any number of chores.
I cut down a Hickory that was 5"-6". Then went to town on a stand of cane that is grownup thick below my pond. This would be a great tool for a fellow that crafts cane arrows or even some tasks on a self bow.
Comments, critiques and questions appreciated.
Mods if this is out of place let me know.

Looks good to me Chris, I think you could cut anything with it. Nice job
She ought to love it.
That is so cool,
Makes me want one,
Nice job
Super , you did a great job
That's pretty darn cool. I could see using it during spring or fall turkey season to clear a spot for my blind. Very nice!
Looks like a useful and very well done tool there Chris.
Time for a promotion ;)
That piece just says "I can do it and do it with class!". I like that.
Very nice!
Now, what does the sheath look like? :)
That is one of the coolest most unique cutting tools I have seen recently......it looks like it will work awesome as well
Thanks for the comments guys. I don't make sheiths, yet. I may if I ever get time to attempt a new hobby. My bosses wife is very organized and has it on a peg board. She knows to oil the blade so maintenance is covered.
