Title: Forging demo
Post by: kbaknife on June 01, 2012, 08:22:00 AM
Wanna see some serious tongs, press, forge, quench tank, etc?
I'm gonna be thinking about this all day.

Wow, sorry Karl but the first thing I thought of was how that thing made your Mr Twister look like a real wienie...   ;)

Thanks for posting Karl,
The tolerances needed for that armature to spin at speed would be tight. The gage equipment would have to be vision technology or laser, I would think. Old fashion blacksmith skills and advanced technogies meet.

Oh my?  I am thinking you could make large sheets of 4000 layer damascus with on smoosh of the press.  I would love to see some of the things those guys create when they are bored.
