Title: Knife Lingo?
Post by: Terry Green on April 20, 2012, 10:57:00 AM
How about a listing of what some of the terms mean...tang, clip, etc...??? This way dummy's like me can learn and understand more about what ya'll are talking about.

I saw a pic of one of Doug's knives with a little circular notch cut out of the bottom edge near the handle....what's that called?

Well you asked for it! That site has knife styles I've never seen before. A real course of study.
Good thread/post.

Terry, I don't know what knife you were referring to but I'm guessing from your description that it was a Spanish Notch.
(Just copy and paste "spanish notch" into Google and click "images" in the left hand column.
