Chris has been working hard to get a knife made to his strict standards. This is the first that he has had photographed. I think he done really great on it. Bear in mind he files his blades to shape for the most part and hand works the handles too. I think this knife is very close to meeting the JS level of workmanship. Actually, it probably would pass with no problem.

Thanks for posting this one for me Lin and thanks for the kind coments. This one is W2 with Stanless fittings and Desert ironwood handle. I hope y'all enjoy the picture, Chuck did a great job.
Chris
Nice knife, Chris. Looks like you are on your way! With Lin's help you will go far.
Allan
Hey Chris! That's a great looking knife
Looks great your well on your way. When you get some power tools you will appreciate them more having done everything by hand!
Wow! That's fantastic.
Keep in mind that this is one of Chris' very first knives. His eye is developing fast and he'll soon be turning out some even nicer. He catches on pretty fast. ;)
Thanks for all the kind comments fellows. I have learned much here and more from Lin. I am very thankful that you fellows have been willing to share info and advice. I didn't show this one to Lin until it had just a little finish work left because I have been focused on a more ambitious project that I will share as soon as it's done. Lin thanks for everything, I am glad that I met you 16 years ago.
Chris
Very nice   you can't beat a mentor like Lin!
That's a great looking knife, Chris. That photo shows just how good a knife can be made without expensive belt grinders, etc. Someday you should to a WIP to show some of your techniques for those out there without all the power tools. Looking forward to that "ambitious project" :) .
Jeremy
I may just do that Jeremy. Thanks for the complement.
Chris
Chris, it's obvious you have talent and the desire, and count your self very lucky to have a mentor!
Great work, and I think every one should make several knives with hand tools!

Good job Buddy! Looks as though it may have some Rhea influnce
Your learning curve is great!
I also want to say you have a great teacher,he certainly taught me alot.
I also like the fact that you set your goals very high!
Can't wait to talk with you in person. :campfire:
Chris, Thats sweet, you are making some fine knives. Keep it up
Dana
Really, thanks for all the kind coments. Yes there is some Rhea influence. He is a great knifesmith and his designs are versatile and functional. In my opinion if there is a influance the can be recognized in a persons work it's best if it's influenced by a Master Smith. So while my work is far from Lin's in calibre it is a huge complement, thank you.
Kevin will you be at the Little Rock Show? I would love to talk with you and see some of your fine folders. Love those knives.
Chris
Chris, your work is awesome! Can't wait to see more!!
