Title: Small skinner
Post by: jonathan creason on December 19, 2011, 11:23:00 AM
This is one I just finished up for a Christmas gift for the husband of our sons' baby-sitter.  When I first started tinkering with knife building he dug through his shed and found me a sawblade to use.  Plus, he's been like a grandfather to my boys, so I wanted to do something nice for him.  He's not a hunter, but he's really into horses, so I thought a frontier/cowboy style knife and sheath would be good.  Here's what I came up with.  Saw steel, with maple scales and rawhide wrap, and a rawhide over veggie tan sheath.

Very nice knife and wonderful sentiment to go with it.
