Title: Gunflint Camp knife
Post by: kbaknife on November 29, 2011, 05:09:00 PM
Another Gunflint Bowie for a "happy camper"!
10 3/16" of my 1" square 1984 nuthin'-but-sweet 5160. Mated that up with some 416 for take-down fittings, and a piece of stabilized curly maple for something to hang on to.
15 1/2" overall.
(strange lighting conditions today in the 'natural' world.)

Very nice Karl!  What grit did you take the hand sanding too?

I took it up to 400 and then brought it back down to 320.
The natural lighting I used on this photo makes the sanding scratches look like 60 grit! But, it's not.

I like a 320 finish when it's done nice and smooth like that one.

Very nice Karl. I am a fan of 5160 myself, also a tad jealous of your special stock pile.
