Title: Dead Mountain Chopper
Post by: srtben on October 08, 2011, 09:06:00 PM
This is a large recurve bowie I just finished up, I have had this one drawn up for a while and I finally got around to doing it.
It was largely inspired by the choppers of Burt Foster and Tad Lynch.
It has what I would call a working hand rubbed finish down to 320, with very light forge remnants visible.
The handle is OD green canvas micarta with ss pins and thong tube. The blade is 1/4 5160 at 9.5", with an OAL of 15.25".
It is definitely a beast, it probably won't win any beauty contests but should make one heck of a workhorse!
The sheath has a removable scout carry "harness" for horizontal carry.
Let what you think.
