I forged the blade to this knife months ago before we got our new blacksmith shop at the museum. The old forge is under a beautiful Magnolia tree. I did not have a specific plan for this blade so I just let it sit for a while until the other day and decided it needed to be finished. The blade is 7 1/2 inches of 5160 steel. The handle is Desert Ironwood and the fittings are stainless and bronze.
Having trouble posting the picture. Be back shortly with the photo. Thanks

That could be a song or something "Forging under the magnolia tree..."
Beautiful piece, Lin. That Ironwood almost looks liquid.
Lin, another master piece. the handle is very nice, but your file work on the spacer is outstanding, do you have a picture of it before you put it on the handle? Great job
Dana

What an amazing looking knife! I have never seen a piece of desert ironwood that pretty either, although I have seen some nice pieces. The spacer is beautiful, and the blade is great too. I am not usually a big knife guy, but this one is making me a fan!

Hey Lin that will keep the bears off ya!
That one turned out great. Its the perfect balance of working knife and dress knife. Love it over all. The Magnolia tree sure witnessed some artistry. I did enjoy the one time I got to forge under its boughs. Chris
Thanks guys.
Speakin of bears Cliff, it looks like a bear's image in the handle wood. Like a Grizzly feeding.
