Title: Obsidian Knife (1st Attempt)
Post by: JJACOBS on August 29, 2011, 06:17:00 PM
Here is a stone knife that I made from a blank.  I used an oak limb for a handle and made my own pitch from the pine trees in my yard.  Now if i just had some sinew or some artifical stuff i could make authentic looking.

Great job-looks good.  I don't know if you're closeto any, but you can call craft stores and ask if they have artificial sinew.  Some where I'm at do, like the Hobby Lobby.

There is a hobby lobby about an hour from me, maybe I can make it over there soon.

Looks good.. obsidian is scary sharp.. I remember my first attempt at it, both hands were bloody after 5 minutes.

I know it's sharp. I dug a nice size chunk from my hand on Sunday
