Title: Sacrificial Steel
Post by: Steve Nuckels on August 26, 2011, 09:20:00 PM
Here is a little stock removal knife I recently finished.  2 7/8" blade, 6" OAL.  Curly maple scales, Old sawmill blade.

I'm calling it Sacrifical steel because early on during the making I made several mistakes and almost abandoned the project.

Nice knife Steve, I like the handle, and is that a new stamp? I like it also.

The knife is edge quenched and etched, too bad you can't see the temper line in the photo.  And the maple is better that it looks.  I used a small triangle file for the handle detail.

Dana, the makers mark is the same one I have been using, maybe I struck this one deeper!

Steve,

I like this one a lot. The sheath compliments the knife wonderfully. Good work, buddy!
