Post by: kbaknife on August 22, 2011, 02:58:00 PM
Something to take along to the Mid-America Symposium in Ohio this weekend:

1095/15N20 Hot-Blued Laddered Random - 324 layers.
Blade has crested spine. (You can see the ladder in the crest)
Stainless fittings and Ironwood handle.

Gorgeous knife, Karl. It reminds me a lot of the "Lone Star" knife I got from you. Is this one a fixed or a take down knife? What are the dimensions? This may be a stupid question (which is common coming from me), but what is a "crested spine"? You sure make incredible knives. I drool all over my computer when I see a picture of one, and I think my Lone Star and the St. Jude knife are rusting from all the saliva I get on them.

Guess I didn't give enough information!
Allan, yes, it is a take-down.
The blade is 4 1/2" and she's a bit over 9" overall.
The "crest" is the raised ridge you can see running down the center of the blade spine, made by creating two facets meeting in the middle.
(Make sure you keep those blades wiped off!)
