Title: A-2 & Friends
Post by: longbowman on July 21, 2011, 03:16:00 PM
I happen to work in an area that is called the Tool & Die capitol of the world.  A friend who owns a local shop just walked in a gave me enough 3/16" A-2 flat stock to make a least 200 average sized hunting knives!  This is a good day!

That is fantastic. A2 makes a darned good blade.

Just in case this might help:

A2

Austenize - 1750/1800

Hold - 20-45 mins

Quench - AIR

Temper 400/1000

RC - 62/56
