A large burnout oven for jewelry casting with programable heat setting works great. 2200 is easy temp to acheieve.....The steels are what you decide on pretty much..Remember the carbon steels are the easiest to work, But rust! With the modern equipment we have available the stainless steels are just about as easy and last and last. Get just as sharp and will hold the edge longer..and low maintenance....rather shoot my bow than oil my knife.
