Thought I'd share a pic of the first blade from a billet made on my new press. Been pretty busy up here so it's been in process for a while but finally ready to look at. This is also my first "W" pattern although it's obvious there's room for improvement. I "laddered" the billet to get the pattern to come out, maybe some day they'll be as nice as Lin's... Oh and just so you'll know she aint spoken for yet ;)

Here's a pic of my little press also, she only weighs a little over 750#. Sometimes ya gotta use what ya got available... ;)

The pattern is good, next time it will be even better! Kinda digg'in the little recurve thing.
That press looks good,(I'm thinking red or blue)
Or whatever, she really needs some lip-stick.Hec it looks like a guy from Mo. made it .and even in Mo. we still have paint.(only Green though)Want me to send you some??
Hey Doug, I need some dyes like that for my 25# er do you think you could send them to Mo.,you probally don't need it anymore with a press like that. ;)
Excellent work all around!
I love it. The way I understand it any successful forge weld is something to be proud of. Congrats.
Chris

Really nice!
great stuff Doug... fun having a press eh? I'm itching to weld up my first damascus billet...
I envy you guys!!
Super Cool!
I like that blade a lot, Doug! Danny is quicker on the draw than I am sometimes. He is going to love that knife!!! I sure love the knives you made for me. Please post pictures of the finished knife and sheath.
Allan
Sorry Allan,
I just could not pass it up. This knife thing is getting worse than my bow addiction,LOL.
I have 5 of Doug's knives, this will make 6. All but one are damascus.
I have 5 or 6 of Karl's knives also, all but one are damascus, and a few from other makers.
Doug, I'm liking that damascus pattern, and I have been liking the deep belly blades lately. The press looks great!

Danny,
I know what you mean. I am addicted to knives like those that Doug, Karl and some others build. The St. Jude collaboration knife is on it's way to me right now, and it is spectacular, as you know. Glad to know you will be the proud owner of this knife.
Allan
Super fine blade there bud.
Nice work, Doug. I hope my first is that good!!!
Doug, that is simply awesome!
Dan
Just got these photos from Doug of the finished knife, WOW, this thing is beautiful and compliments the bowie I recently purchased from him.
