Post by: sticshooter on May 08, 2011, 11:12:00 PM
Just got these done. Anyone wanna take a guess at what the handle is on the top knife?

It looks like an artificial granite counter top material. I like it on the knife, whatever it is. That blade style is still my favorite for a skinning knife.

Can you show a closeup bud?

I'll take a stab at it:

The inner porous portion of an elk antler that's been filled with epoxy

Ksilolita?  Aka "wood stone" or Xylolite.

Whatever it is it looks great!

Stickshooter,
Good thing someone else guessed it cause I know how times are tight for everyone soooo I was going to say it came from a "head stone" from some nearby graveyard...  :scared:  <")))><

:bigsmyl:

Very cool looking handle Frank!  That idea has been in my head for awhile now too, but shop time for new knives - or knives people have been waiting on - has been nearly nonexistent.  I should have a few finished by the end of this month though!!

So how'd you fill it?  Vacuum, positive pressure, gravity flow?  Inquiring minds want to know!

Say  :wavey:  to Shell for me.  I have to call you two one of these days... it's been too long!
