This is my first attempt at making a knife (except for a saw blade utility tool/knife),made from a Johnson file. I have another full size knife project from the same file, initially roughed out and waiting. OAL is 5 1/8", 3/16" thickness. I drilled holes in the handle to reduce the weight. Gripping with three fingers and thumb feels nice and secure.
I didn't polish, and left some tool and sandpaper marks on this one, leaving it a bit rough. Applied gun blue finish.
I plan to carry this as a neck knife, so it still needs an appropriate sheath.

Had trouble with the pic (above) so here it is.
Nice work!
I like it.

Cool little knife!!!
Thanks to all for the encouraging comments. Like my first bow, it will serve as a learning experience for more to come. Here is a little better pic, taken in sunlight, as the other is quite dark. I have added a little more work in the edge with a carbide sharpener.

I like it!
I like it, too! A lot!
Nice work. That knife screams "function"...
I agree with Todd, Function is the word for that knife. You can do anything and everything with that knife that you can do with a biggun... except chop firewood.
I like it, keep up the good work.

Thanks again for the kind words and encouragement. I was indeed looking to make a functional mini-knife, no frills.
I got my inspiration from sticshooter's excellent post on his "Teeny Weeny Knife", just free-formed the shape a bit and kept it simple.
Nice lines on the blade...
Will deffinetly be a good worker knife..
Like the bluing on it..
Later....Buzz
