A question for the powers that be would this suffice for a forge design? i plan on the pan to be aprox 2 in deep. the pot will be about 6" deep. the rest is shown. I plan on getting started this weekend.
I have a friend that has some plow tines that i am going to use to learn some hammer control and techniques. what are some other good linear stock that i could work on? I looked up purgatory iron works on youtube and he shows the several different hammer strokes.
any advice would be appreciated!
about what color should the metal be for forging heat?
Ok so my bro in law has some thick pipe about 10" diameter what could I use for refractory to make it into a forge? Kaowool is too expensive for me right now. Would I have to have refractory? There is enough pipe for three forges...
