Well I know this might have been borderline abuse, but Ive broken a few knives and need something stronger. The last knife being the Kershaw outcast D2, its a large knife. What i need is a strong large knife that will be able to withstand heavy use.splitting, chopping and such. Exspecially beable to be used for splitting with a baton, hitting the back of the knife with another piece of wood to drive it through. Was looking at the united rambo 4 knife basically a big chunk of steel. any opinions or other ideas would be appreciated.. thanks .. matty
i dont think you would be very happy with the rambo knive. just my opinion. if you are going for a production knife, have you tried a cold steel knife. i have heard only good stuff about those.
I'll be posting an 01 Tool steel wharncliff style knife with snakewood scales when I get the sheath done. I think it is about 1/4" thick at the spine. I'll send the total specs when I get a chance if you think you might be interested.
You need a Big style camp chopping blade...something like my Big Bertha (on top). Lin or Karl can fix you up...Doc

Factory knife? Try some of the older cold steel chopper style knives.
