Been a while since I have been to the shop and it felt good to get these two started. One for a really good friend and one for the kitchen.
Start with a piece off a Ford

Then warm it in here

Smash it with a power hammer

And out comes these

Looking good!
Bobby I really like that top one. Very nice.
Thanks Ray and Skully. I am really excited about the Kitchen Knife and hoping it turns out like I want. I am trying to grind it thinner than any I have made and then go a little thinner still. Here is where I am at so far.

I'm liking the bottom one.
Thanks SWP
Going out of town for a week but when I get back I am getting right on these two. The drop point hunter is for a friend that just lost her dog. The handle is a little big but my goal is to incorporate(inset) Farleys dog tag into the handle. I am really hoping I can get that one to turn out nice for all the obvious reasons. Stay tuned.
Any tips on a finish to go over the inlet tag? Should I put epoxy over it?
thanks
