I recently finished this hunter. It has a nice twisted pattern blade 4 1/8 inch long with amber Stag scales. The gaurd is Stainless. This is two views of the same knife. Lin

Real nice Lin.
What kind of pins did you use, and did you peen with a ball peen hammer?
Have you ever tried a pin spinner?
Dan
BEAUTIFUL work bd
Well after rereading the top part, i see that it is scales. so can you tell me how you did the finger guard?
dana
Thats beautiful Lin. I realy like it.
Dan,
I have only used spinners that I made. I hammered these pins with a small ball pien. Stag is pretty tough stuff, so I go ahead and plan on a pretty good head to hold a little inward pressure. The pin size is 1/8, so the head is slightly larger, but not by much. The dips and grooves in the stag always make it an adventure, but I like the look and I believe it to be very durable. Thanks, Lin
Lin, Very nice hunter. I like amber stag a lot. Knifemaker
I love the look, very nice knife Lin. Sometime, would you please make a post on your spinner, and how to make one? Dan
Very nice Lin.
One of these days I have to get me one of your knives.
Danny
That is a very beautiful knife. I love the flame stag handles.
Beautiful knife Lin!! Do you use the Mortised tang contruction on your stag knives also?
James
Yes James. The scales are two bark Stag slabs together, back to back. They have to be dead flat to make the good joint. Lin
really nice, Lin!
Lin thats very beautiful! I think I've seen one like that somewhere else! I'll give you a call one of these days when I can remember too. Tell everyone we said HELLO!
