Title: Hog Knife
Post by: LONGBOWKID on January 02, 2010, 12:50:00 AM
Heres another I built back in November. The guy I built it for wanted a knife to stick a hog with if the situation turned ugly while bowhunting. This is what I came up with.

Just over 12" with 6 1/2" of blade. Top edge is shaving sharp, as is the rest of the blade. L6 sawblade steel and a brass guard. The handle is composed of burl walnut sandwiched around an osage liner. Matte finish on the blade and handle. Fileworked thumb rest on the back of the blade as well. Hopefully he will bloody it up sooner or later.

Enjoy.

Great job! I know a hog hunter from McCalla and that sounds just like the kind of knife he prefers!
Love it!
