Well I went looking for some hammers to add to my evolving forging shop and this is what I found!

18" Old Fairmount BP, I estimate around 32 oz.
15" 1940's Craftsman CP guessing to be a 2 1/2 lbs.
and a 14" Plumb BP 20 oz.

I also have a new Stanley CP 4 pound hammer, not pictured.

Is that a good mix of hammers? What other(s) would you recommend?

Do you currently have a shop? I am from Cumberland and am in Hagerstown often.

Just dress up the faces & radii (radiuses?) & DON'T use them for anything but forging & you'll have something going there!!

LAR43, how would I go about doing that without messing them up?

I did mine on the belt grinder w/ a fine belt.

Get them smooth & as ding free as you can. Hammer faces are pretty hard, you'll have to work at messing them up.
