THANKS RAY
HAVE YOU EVERY TRIED 2000 GRIT? I HAVE SOME AND THOUGHT IT MIGHT WORK TO HELP HIDE ANY FLAWS,
I BOUGHT A TORCH WITH MAPP GAS AND OXGEN, WILL THIS HEAT THE BLADE TO 1400 DEGREES?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

2000 grit won't hide any flaws, Dana.

You have to get all the flaws out before you leave 150 grit.

Anything above 150 is only a polishing grit...it won't remove anything except the fine scratches of the previous grit if you rub the blade in a different direction.

I don't know about the torch-sorry

The hand sanded finish ,in my opinion the best but I know some maker use a scotch brite belt or wheel to achieve similar results.

You can also try various scotch brite, as well as sand blasting.
