I happened upon a whole lot of material today, got a 30 gallon bag of scales custom cut for free. Walnut, figured poplar, a bit of burl red oak, cherry, white oak, more than I can ever know what to do with.
I also got three planer blades. What I want to know is can I use them to make knives? The only logo on the blades say "Rader" and I searched the web with no results. I also got a bunch of circular saw blades, and a large worn out file but I already know what I can do with them. There is a 145 grain field point to the right for scale.
All help is needed and appreciated...

I have founf that the planer blades are brittle but once you soften them the steel is great and the make nice knives. Good luck and stay safe. Dave.
