Here is a short buildalong on my first knife. I obtained the blade from Woodcraft.
step 1: glue up the scales (Devcon 5 min) epoxy. I used hickory, yellowheart then cocobolo

trace scales

Cut the scales on the bandsaw. I use a clamp to maintain a safe distance from the blade:

Start to shape the handle after dry assembly

Glue the handle on the tang, (devcon 5 min epoxy again)

Starting on the sheath. 7-8 oz. leather with 1-2 oz suede on the inside:

Sew it up and cut it to final shape

Meanwhile, start coating the handle with finish....I used Cambells Magnalac, 2 coats, sand coat, sand, coat sand, wax, polish
(http://i492.photobucket.com/albums/rr287/bjjanse/Stubby%20skinnner/Bowerpics106.jpg)
I am out of snaps...so I imprised a antler button and elastic cord to hold it in...the sheath probably hold it tight enough by itsself

Stain and finish the leather
