i am fixing to get ahold of a couple whole giraffe leg bones. what are these things running for price wise?
check the auction site...I've not seen whole ones for sale other than there. Colored scale pairs are pretty pricey, though.
I really liked working with it...I will have some pics soon of a knife I did from gray/blue looking giraffe..it turned out great.
If you get some cut and want to trade for some types of wood let me know...I think it would be great just plain bone colored as well.
Most of them I've seen are $30+ per leg bone but they are BIG bones. LOL! I imagine you could get a lot of scales out of one. Camel bone is also becoming popular.
I think Texas Knife works has some for sale as
well....

That link takes me to camel bone...
try giraffebone.com, i saw it in an old knife mag.
Careful, most of the giraffe and camel bone has been stabilized and/or died. I do not know if I have ever seen it used in an unstabilized condition.
