Hi all,
Here are some pics of my first knife. It was an old file I bought years ago.
I annealed it in a fire in the backyard last night and cut it out with firstly a hack saw and then with the angle grinder.
I've got some lovely Tasmanian Blackwood for scales and I'll use brass for the pins.
Next installment tomorrow.
Thanks for looking.
Tom.

I sure will!
Looks like a good start!
I like the profile! I will be watching this with great interest!

Thanks. I based the profile loosely off an old Opinel folding knife I had that fell into a campfire when I was about 12.
I did a little bit more on the knife this morning and I think it's going in the direction I want it to.
The pin holes are a bit uneven but that doesn't really bother me.
The line at the base of the blade was an experiment gone wrong :|

Also a pic of the scales material.
I hope it will end up looking like one of these. (http://www.australiantonewoods.com/BLGrading-3.jpg)
