I had found a really neat bone at the TX Sweat 07. It is a sun bleached tibia from some small critter possibly a goat as that is what we were hunting. What makes this bone special is at some point in her ( I refer to my bows & knives in the feminine) life, she fractured this bone. It healed with a large callus and a deviation from straightness. So she actually die from some other demise besides the accident that broke her leg.

I had been wanting to go back to a more primitive forging so I made up a blade with all my tapers done by hammering and not grinding...more of a Fur Trapper Era. I slotted the bone and pinned in a partial tang. Then filled the marrow cavity with an osage plug. tippit

COOL!
As always Doc super .<><
When I'm hunting I seem to spend 1/2 my time looking at the ground around me. Just love to incorporate all those neat finds as much as the hunting itself :)
Cool stuff.
I know what ya mean Doc. I have been eyeballing all the pallets at work. Looking for cool wood. BTW would you like to see your knife before I send it?<><<><
I always seem to be jamming my pockets and packs full of bits and pieces, rocks, twigs, bones, leaves and what have you when I am out too!
