This is a damascus twist blade with brass guard, white and black spacers on an olive wood handle with mosaic pins. It is about a 3.5" blade and 7" or so overall.

Very nice! Question, I seen several hidden tang knives like this with guards. Is there a reason so many have the spacers between the wood and the guard. I don't see wood next to the guard to often is the reason I ask!
That one really catches an eye.
I usually do mine next to the guard. I decided to use spacers this time. No particular reason.
Looks great. what did you finish the wood with?

TruOil stock finish. Thanks for the compliments!
That's a beautiful knife
Skull, do you use tru-oil stock finish all the time?
Were do you get tru oil?
Wal-Mart may carry it in the sporting goods area near the gun care stuff. I've seen Birchwood Casey brand stuff in there before.
thanks

Not always. I have used Tung oil...I like TruOil better. I also use lacquer on occasion. Yep...get it at Wally World in the gun section.
I've been using their wood filler and sealer and have been pretty happy with the results. Its a little glossy for my personal taste but it seems tuff. I found that if you let it sit outside in the sun and air it dries/cures better.
If I want a matte finish I generally come back with some 1000 grit sand paper and give it a light rub down and then buff it with a soft piece of thin leather.
