I don't know if this is the right forum for this thread, but I learned today of the young Pennsylvania game warden that was killed on Friday by a poacher that was a felon. My condolences to the family, fellow wildlife officers, and the sportsmen of Pennsylvania. I have been a wildlife professional for 27 years, over 15 of which were spent as a game warden in 2 states. I have been in many similar situations, but by the grace of God was never hurt, or had to shoot anyone. While not everyone likeS the game warden, most are caring, conscientious professionals that have a dangerous, sometimes thankless job. I loved it, but it wasn't always as great as many people think. I wish Mr. Groves family the best under the circumstances, and hope the people of Pennsylvania and all sportsmen realize they have lost a protector of wildlife, and a young life. May he rest in peace.
AMEN
What a horrible shame! God bless his family. Do you know what part of the state he was from?

Thoughts and prayers for the family.
Sad news indeed. Prayers for his family. God Bless them.
This is such a tragity. My Prayers to the family and friends of this servant for the people.
Wardens have a dangerous job that is not appreciated nearly enough by the citizenry in general and hunters in particular. We should all be more appreciative of what they do; without them, our outdoor recreation would be in jeopardy. Hopefully the POS that killed him will get his just desserts. Prayers and condolences to his family and to wardens in Pennsylvania.
May God's peace be with him and His loving hand touch his family.
How sad, a good man lost his life over a deer!!! What is this world coming to?? I won't espouse my beliefs, but I reload and I've got lots of rope!!

Very sad indeed, my prayers to the family.

They stand between that which we love and those who would destroy it. When they deal with a perp, it is usually a confrontation in a lonely place with an armed criminal. God bless them for their work, of which the general public rarely has a notion, and God bless their families, who wonder where their loved one is and what the next phone call will bring.
I never regret a dime that I pay the Game Commission. My price is but a pittance, compared with what was given in Pennsylvania.

Prayers of thanks and support from a Pennsylvania family. As someone so aptly put it, these men and women are the thin line between what we love and those who do wrong to it. Such individuals ruin the public perception of hunting and hunters.
We have to stand by the officers and conservation pros, even if we disagree with some policies. They are our only legally established hope in this self consuming world.
Prayers sent to the Groves family. I often think about the job game wardens do as most people they approach have a gun. The person who took this mans life not only stole a man from his family but also from the sportsmen of Pennsylvania.
my prayers go out to the family. how can taking a life be taken so lightly. if our government don't go back to capital punishment with no drawn out appeals, the crimanls are going to take over.
More prayers for all those involved. Never makes sense to me to fight 90 days and a $1500 fine with violence now hopefully, being Grove was a "police offer" will carry summary penalties for the perp. May God have mercy on that man's soul...
Doc Nock took the workds right out of my mouth. The sensless killing of another human being.
Prayers to his family.

Prayers for the family from here...
I found the story in the online paper where he was from. The fellow who shot him didn't want to go back to jail for having a weapond. Well he got his wish because he will do life for killing a man. Go figure....I will pray for this family and I will pray for myself and what I think would be FAIR treatment for this fellow who would take anothers life instead of taking his punishment for breaking the law. I would love to handle this my way but His word tells my ways are not His ways. When He does it the right thing will happen. If I handle the way I want to then I would be no better then this killer. God thank you for reminding me of this. I will also pray for the killer as well even though I would rather not!!!!!!!.....Dusty
May God Bless the family and co-workers
