I am writing on behalf of my husband who is a member on this site and is an avid hunter and outdoorsman. In August of 2009, he was diagnosed with three malignant, inoperable brain tumors. (He had a completely different malignant brain tumor in 1986, and God healed him of that. He has lived well all these years!) After treatment at Duke Oct-Dec, he is doing very well. The tumors have shrunk more than 50%, and he continues on a monthly chemo regimen at this time. He is tolerating the chemo great!
He has returned to teaching in January, and all of his symptoms remain at bay. We are grateful for all this cancer is not, but we ask for your prayers for his complete healing. He missed out on duck and deer season this year, so it was a big disappointment, but he will be ready this year, I know! :)
Thank you for your interest in my wonderful husband's health concerns, and God bless you.

Prayers sent, hang in there.
I know a man in our church who is a 3 time cancer survivor. He told me that the one thing that helped him with his chemo was that he would drink an eight oz glass of red wine as soon as he could after his treatment. He said that the first day would be ruff but he could not even tell he had taken it the following day. I know he a very good christian man and that he was not drinking it for any other reason. He wanted us to tell anyone who we knew that was taking chemo. He got this info from his doctor who recomended it to him. I will pray for your husband's full recovery and that God will take his tumors away. I thank you for asking us to be a part of this work in your life.
I hope he continues doing so well. I will be praying for complete healing. Glad he is still working...working, time in the woods, family, and God...sound like the right path to be on.

First,Kim, thank you for coming here to share about your hubby's situation. I've seen some amazing things happen on, not necessarily because of this prayer forum, but it sure has been magical to watch as many have been spared through faith and intercession.
Prayers forLandy to continue to battle well and for the Lord to smile on him and make His face shine upon him and bring him peace.
He's a lucky man to have married such a good woman as well.
Prayers for strength, peace that passes all understanding and healing by His stripes.
Keep the Son in your eyes!

The red wine is something that my mom grew up with. The few times she had a surgery she would drink the wine just beforew going to bed. Acording to the doctor that told her to do this, it has something to do with helping replentish the blood. Do not know if its true or not, but all I can say is mom recovered alot faster than expected.
Later....Buzz
Buzz, et al,
Red wine has some amazing anti-oxidants, that stuff that helps fight off the bad stuff in our bodies. They say that is why the European cultures with high fat diets that drink a goodly bit of red wine have lower heart disease.
Doc's used to tell my grandma's generation that a sip of port wine was good for the constitution each night before bed.
Continued prayers for Landy, Kim, the family and the medical team workign with them.
Lord in your Mercy...
LANDY, WE'RE PULLING FOR YOU.

GOD'S PEACE
I am praying for Landy's continued healing and your strength and loving support of your husband Kim.
Prayers from Ohio.
It's Kim again. Thank you all for your prayers and concern. While I am not opposed to a bit of red wine here and there, alcohol is strictly forbidden when taking this chemo, according to his physicians. So, not that I discount the benefits of red wine, but we will abstain during this round of poison that begins tonight. He's feeling good and ready to endure the week. :)
I will make sure he logs on to see all of these wonderful messages, and the one on his CaringBridge site as well. God bless!
Landy here. Thanks for all the prayers and words of encouragement. 1 Thessalonians 5 16-18. Be joyful always. Pray continously. In all circumstances give thanks for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.

Landy/Kim,
Nutritional supplements are super when under chemo. They're what is supposed to be in food, but isn't...for a multitude of reasons.
Grape seed extract has the same ingredient as the red wine without the alcohol. All helps what God intended to be in our bodies anyway.
my Family would like to give you our prayers as well If anyone can heal it is our lord! God Bless
prayed for your husband and gave thanks for providing him with a good wife
