Hey all Tradgangers,
Last week I received word that a high school friend was killed in Afganistan fighting the Taliban.
His name is Sgt Bill Cahir. He enlisted in the Marines at 34 years old after 9/11 to help make the world a better place and he's paid the ultimate price following his calling.
The worst part is that he left behind a wife and unborn twins who will never know their father. Truly tragic.
His bravery and patriotism have been featured on Hardball with Chris Matthews. Here's the link: Hardball (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036697/#32453196)
I knew him since Junior High and he is a great guy.
Please send your prayers to his family and if you have a few extra bucks, there is a fund to help his family financially with his loss.
Not exactly bowhunting related, but everyone should know what a great man Bill was and what a sacrifice he made so we can all live without the fear of another attack on US soil.
While we all get ready to head into the woods this year, take a moment to think about and thank all the service-men and women who keep us free.

Shed your tears for the family, not the Marine. It takes a special type of person to go to a foreign land and fight. But we do it because we WANT to, not because we have to. This fine man payed the ultimate price and is now eternally living the ultimate life. I'm sure he is smiling down on us all while he's guarding the pearly gates.
OOOrah my brother! and thank you.
My prayers go out to his wife. I'm certain the unborn children she carries are already proud of their daddy.
Semper Fi!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's never good to see this happen. I lost two mates in Baghdad just the other day in a shooting... as with your mate, these two lads left wives and kids as well... it's never easy to understand.

Yes Al, your friends are in all our prayers.
PRAYERS FOR ALL WHO LOVED THESE GOOD MEN.
It's because of people like him that we have the freedom to have a link like this...prayers from OK.
I never know what to say or do when I hear these stories...and for every one that we learn about how many dozens others?
There can be no peace without vigilance and freedom is never free.
May God smile on all fallen soldiers' families as they struggle to find meaning and direction.
Lord in your mercy....
