Title: Job
Post by: Arwin on October 17, 2008, 05:21:00 PM
I had been working at a new job close to home and everything was going great. Well, one of the major companies that our factory supplies is on strike and I got laid off almost two weeks ago.
The kicker is that my supervisor was going to hire me in full time, he said I have a strong work ethic, which I am very proud of. It's a union company, and he said when the strike is over, they would love to have me come back full time. Sources say it could be as late as December before the strike is resolved.
I have applied to a dozen places in town(have to keep close to home for gas costs) and nothing so far. We are in some trouble and I really need prayers to find a job soon. We have been in tight spots before and God has always provided for us. I'm just not the type who can sit by and not work. This is driving me mental!  :knothead:

Came to the right place for understanding and prayers. C2, Benha and I all have been out and Lord only knows how many others that come here are in a similar boat, but don't post.

We've all had it rather good as a country for a long time. People complain about jobs going overseas, but look around the house... I'm one who knows that much of what I have I couldn't afford had it not been for cheaper labor overseas...can't have our cake and eat it too.

As for timing...some of us have been at this jobless thing or have had new hires go bust on us a time or two and are back in the soup.

It might get worse till it gets better...

Know that we all understand your predicament  and empathize with your plight.

Keep the Son in your eyes! God must have a plan!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it... there are a bunch more like me who were temps waiting to get hired in. I feel for them and their families also. Living in a small community doesn't leave much room for finding work.
Looking at the positives though I have God on my side, a super great family, good health, and great friends around me. Plus a little extra time to hunt between job hunting. Not sure if the wife is too crazy about that one, but she encourages me to get out and relaxe anyway.   :biglaugh:

Arwin,

No doubt things are tough here in Michigan. May have to range out a bit from home these days....like out of State. "[dntthnk]"  Best of luck to an MBH Rep!  Addin' ya to the prayer list buddy.

I sure dont know the reason for some of the trials we face, but God can and does takes those things that work against us and causes them to work for us. The Lord will Provide! ..if things dont work out with one job, it just means he has something better for you in the future...keep hold'n on to the Masters hand.

God Bless. ..M.M.

I have been super blessed!!!! Thanks all for your prayers!!

I finally got a part time job up at the high school here in town as a night time custodian. It's right around the block, which saves on gas, and really laid back.
Times are super tough. I used to be able to get a job anywhere and now it's nealry impossible......except with the Lords grace and lots-O-prayers from great friends. Thanks!!
