Title: Vintage bows, arrow plates & rug rests, what do you do to....

prevent wear of these original components?  Do you just shoot and let them wear or do you remove and store them for future use?  I always store the original string of course for safety reasons...  What do you do on your bows?

Just use them generally they last a long time.

I used to shoot off the shelf/rug, then I switched to putting small brush rests in the sight window, then I switched to putting Trap's feather rests on the shelf and that is what I use now. My opinion the feather rest works best. No replacing rugs and the feather rests are quite durable.

Thanks for the replys. I kinda suspected that you all don't worry too much about it but I wasn't positive.  I do like the feather rest on my bows that came with them though.
